Elsie Magazine is back…and this time it’s digital!

Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

The first edition of the new digital Elsie Magazine is available here for you to read and enjoy. Even though it’s my passion, producing a one-man magazine is a pretty tough gig and getting the word out is even tougher. If there’s anything you can do to help me spread the word I’d be extremely grateful. If you have any questions or would like any images, please get in touch. In the meantime, please take a look at the first edition.

I hope you enjoy it. Cheers, Les

A bit about me and Elsie

Hi, My name is Les Jones. I’m a designer, photographer, writer and speaker based in Cheshire. I started Elsie Magazine about ten years ago as an ad hoc publication to bring together all my personal projects and interests into one space. Elsie has no big agenda, to mission to accomplish other than to provide some creative enjoyment and inspiration to its readers.

Last year, during the first lockdown, I decided to produce a weekly online version of Elsie as a way of providing a little creative light relief to the end of each week. I produced eight issues before real work kicked in. However, that experience opened my eyes to new possibilities for the magazine and the potential to build a creative community of people who not only enjoy the magazine, but become part of it - helping to create new content for each issue.

So, I decided to grasp the nettle and launch Elsie as an online monthly publication. There are lots of ways in which subscribers can get involved, from monthly creative challenges to sharing their collections - you can see more by clicking on the Elsie Community in the menu bar.

One question I always get asked is ‘Why Elsie?’ - the answer is simple, it’s because my middle name is Colin - L.C.

Anyway, thanks for reading, I’m excited to see where we’ll be in a year or so.

In the meantime, here’s a quote from John Cage, that perfectly sums up what Elsie is all about!

“I have nothing to say and I’m saying it”
